01 — THE SHORT VERSION

We keep as little as possible.

To alert you we need three things: an email address, the part numbers you care about, and the change notices you forward. We store the minimum needed to match those together. We do not sell, rent or share your data, and we do not use your BOM for anything except alerting you.

Your bill of materials tells a competitor what you build and roughly what it costs. We treat it accordingly.

02 — WHAT WE COLLECT

Specifically this.

YOUR EMAIL

Required. Used to identify your account and to send alerts. Nothing else.

PART NUMBERS

The manufacturer part numbers from BOMs you send us, plus an optional board name so alerts can tell you which board is affected. Quantities, designators, prices, suppliers and any other columns are discarded on import — we key only on the part number.

FORWARDED NOTICES

Mail you forward to us. We extract the affected part numbers, notice reference, dates and change type, then keep a link to the manufacturer's original. We do not retain notice bodies or attachments after extraction.

COMPANY NAME

Optional. Only if you choose to give it.

NOT PAYMENT DETAILS

Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

03 — WHO ELSE SEES IT

Three processors, no advertisers.

STRIPE

Payment processing. Receives your email and billing details directly; we do not pass them your BOM.

BEEHIIV

Sends the free weekly digest. Holds only the email addresses of digest subscribers.

HOSTINGER

Hosts the site and the mailbox where forwarded notices arrive.

That is the complete list. No advertising networks, no data brokers, no analytics that profile you. We will not sell your data in any circumstance, and if that ever changed we would ask you first rather than update this page quietly.

04 — HOW LONG

While you are a subscriber, then 30 days.

Cancel and we delete your BOMs and part data within 30 days. Ask us to delete sooner and we will do it on request, usually the same day. Digest subscribers can unsubscribe in one click, which removes the address from beehiiv immediately.

We keep basic billing records longer where tax law requires it. Those contain no part data.

05 — YOUR RIGHTS

Ask and you get it.

Email hello@bomsentry.com to get a copy of everything we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We do not require a particular form of words and we do not charge for it. We aim to respond within a few days.

If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with its own privacy law, you have these rights by statute. We extend the same handling to everyone regardless of where you are, because running two standards would be more work than doing it properly once.

06 — MAIL YOU FORWARD

One thing to check before you forward.

Forwarded notices sometimes carry confidentiality language from the manufacturer, and some manufacturers treat notices sent to account holders as non-public information. Please make sure you are permitted to forward what you forward. We cannot assess your agreements with your suppliers, and we would rather flag this than let you discover it later.

We use forwarded mail solely to alert you. We do not republish manufacturers' documents, aggregate them into a database for others, or pass them to anyone else.
